Classic Rock… Done RIGHT!
A native South Carolinian and piano player for almost 30 years, Willy started piano lessons at 6 years old when his identical twin, David, began taking guitar. Together they grew up learning blues, jazz, and rock and roll, learning to improvise by playing together. Early in his teenage years, Willy grew a fascination and enthusiasm with the Hammond B3 organ sound that has never gone away. The two brothers started a jazz trio in high school, playing private events and restaurants in the Charleston area. They helped found the jazz music program at Wofford College, greatly expanding its music department. As well as jazz, Willy played rock ‘n roll throughout his college years, playing college parties and events throughout the state. Since moving back to Charleston, he has played and recorded with various original and cover acts, and he plays for church on Sundays. These days Willy is KILLIN’ IT on keys in a genre of music that he was born to play!
