Tom Howsmon

Bass Guitar

Tom is originally from Marietta, Ohio but lived in Northern Virginia for many years. He started playing the guitar and bass guitar at age 10. His first bass was his Mom’s stand up bass. Soon after, he got his first Fender guitar and performed in a blues band at age 12. From a musical family, he studied piano, guitar and participated in band throughout most of high school playing the trumpet before switching to the tuba. He played in metal/classic rock bar bands before switching to country in the early 90’s. In the early 2000’s, he began serving as a bassist in church where he continues to play today. Tom moved his family to Charleston, SC for work in 2017 and has recently retired. He has been doing fill-in bass guitar work with several bands in the Lowcountry. He is excited for what lies ahead as he continues his musical journey as the bass player for Superfine!
